Benches for Donald

This series of benches is a side effect of our explorations in material reflection. The aluminum monolith can blend in certain light or mirror cuts in another. Produced in LA & New York, the form asks: what is the effort needed to produce a single block? The project expanded from bench, to coffee table, to plinth, depending on the activation. Inspired by Walter de Maria, Donald Judd, and Carl Andre, this 'line' is broken into dashes, and a new volume is created. They are meant to be played with, turned over, flipped around, and programmed as bench, table, pedestal, etc. Used for the set of a Zepherina fashion show in 2024, and lives in domestic residences on both coasts of the US.
