Casa Tejida

Casa Tejida is a center for women weavers located in Mexico City, conceived as a space that elevates craft to the status of art. The architecture brings together production and exhibition, allowing the women to weave while their finished pieces are displayed with the care and presence of works in a museum.

The project celebrates weaving as a form of cultural knowledge carried through generations and embodied in the hands of its makers. Rather than separating the artisan from the artwork, Casa Tejida reveals the labor, memory, and intimacy contained within each piece. The building becomes both workshop and gallery, a place that honors women’s craft, makes their creative process visible, and gives it the permanence and recognition it deserves.
